1. Who we are

Geng Jang is operated by Anurag Bandu Raipure ("we", "us"), the data controller for personal information processed through gengjang.com.

2. Data we collect

Account data: email address, password (hashed), display name.
Content you create: quizzes, custom topics, uploaded images.
Gameplay data: student names or team names entered during a live session (typically transient nicknames chosen by the teacher).
Support messages: emails and messages you send us.
Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, log data, and basic usage/telemetry.

3. How we use it

To create and operate your account (contract).
To provide the games and materials library (contract).
To secure the service and prevent fraud/abuse (legitimate interests).
To improve the product and fix bugs (legitimate interests).
To respond to support requests (contract / legitimate interests).
To comply with legal obligations.

4. Who we share it with

Service providers: hosting, database, email delivery and analytics providers acting as processors on our behalf.
Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for sale of the product, subscription management, payments, invoicing and tax compliance.
Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
Authorities where required by law.

We do not sell personal data.

5. International transfers

Data may be processed outside your country by our service providers. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

6. Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations. Live gameplay data (team/player names, answers) is generally short-lived and can be deleted on request. When data is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.

7. Your rights

Subject to local law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, port your data, and withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise a right, email support@gengjang.com; we aim to respond within one month.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls and audited hosting — to protect personal data. No system is 100% secure.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences. We may use limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

10. Children

Geng Jang is intended for teachers. Students appear in the product only as short-lived, teacher-managed nicknames or team names during live sessions; we do not knowingly collect personal contact details of children.
